Efzl PHC grants bail to former K-P minister Ziaullah Afridi
KARACHI:The Waqas Shah murder case is nearing its conclusive end as the accused, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker Asif Ali, recorded on Monday his statement before the anti-terror judge presiding over the trial. Ali has been accused of killing his political comrade Shah during a protest which erupted after the Ran stanley store gers raided the party headquarters on March 11 last year. Ali, in his statement, refuted the allegations leveled against him by the prosecution and said that it was paramilitary personnel who fired at Shah and that his claim could be verified by the footage available with the media. The ATC-IX judge made the statement part of the case and newbalance 574 adjourned the hearing till May 25 for hearing final arguments. Afterwards, the case will move towards the decisive phase.
